TEAM SPOTLIGHT:  Meet the superstars of Mercy Radiology giving you excellent care

Get to know Erin and Komal, two of our Medical Imaging Technologists.

With Auckland in lockdown, Erin and Komal recently stepped up to assist Auckland’s Covid-19 response, putting their hands up to help administer vaccinations at The Trusts Arena in Henderson.

Erin’s Experience

“I’m a born and bred westie so it was great to be able to give back to the West Auckland community. It’s so important to get vaccinated so I was happy to be able do anything we can do to help get our community vaccinated.

“It was such a positive experience. Everyone coming through was so kind and grateful to be getting vaccinated. I feel very lucky that I was able to contribute to something that I’m sure will be a very momentous time of our lives.”

Komal’s Experience

“When I heard they were needing Covid response volunteers I immediately signed up to be a part of this programme. I like to keep busy and with Mercy’s branches operating at reduced hours, for the first time in a very long time I had the spare time to help my community.

“This was an opportunity to be involved in something new, and I wanted to ensure I was doing my title as an essential worker justice. The Trusts Arena was dedicated to the Māori & Pasifika community, and I completed the vaccination course.

“The amount of work and preparation that is going into these centres is heart-warming to see. I feel so proud and have met some amazing essential workers from all walks of life.

“I feel grateful to have been given the opportunity to be a part of something that will change our world.”

Say Cheese!

“We took this picture on a Sunday during the vaccination program at The Trusts Arena. We were working hard and still smiling even with the rainy weather (though you may not be able to see it through our masks!!)”
